ALANA RICHARDS?! tags;kish notes;--- ooc;--- Sand, sand, and - you guessed it - more sand! The desert seemed to stretch on for miles before her and Alana just growled, already in her wolf form, hulking about the sand. The books she had read had directed her here, the Hatching Grounds. They said she would find the one - her bonded dragon. How she would find it had been strategically left out of the instructions. Never mind that, the girl just stretched and leaped into a gallop, kicking up golden sand all around her lean black body. Hopefully she would feel her bonded when she neared it...or maybe she would be able to see the nest.
She kept running for a full ten minutes until finally she slowed to a bumpy walk, glaring at the sandy slopes all around her. She sighed, shaking her big black head and observing the terrain with bright hazel eyes. There seemed to be a disturbance in the smooth ripples of sand up ahead and she curiously trotted over, Wolf-like eyes widening at the sight. It was a nest all right, with over a dozen brilliantly colored eggs in it. Alana felt her heart start racing as she stared at the gem-like vessels, hoping that one contained the dragon for her.
The books had told her that once her dragon sensed her near, that it would awaken and hatch, so she decided to give it some time and wait. She paced impatiently, watching the nest like a hawk, never letting the bright eggs leave her line of sight. She began to wonder just what her dragon would look like. She was of the fire alliance, surely her dragon would be grandly colored. She hoped it was large and strong and powerful. She needed something strong...something powerful. She needed power...
Shaking her head, the large wolf sat back, taking to staring with an unwavering gaze at the nest. Please be in there! She muttered with a heavily accented voice, She wasn't sure if she should stay in wolf form or not. She was so much more comfortable as a wolf, especially out in the wild terrain. It would be a pain hiking all the way back to town on foot...especially if her bonded was not here. Sighing, Alana shook the thought from her head, inching closer and closer to the nest.

A voice echoed from somewhere outside of the dragon hatchling's crystal like egg. On the outside, it looked much like any other rock. Grayish browns pushing into eathother, absorbing the warmth of the sun with its dark colors. He was content within his home... Sitting... Waiting. But one could only take so much of that nonsense before they needed to move around. And he was... HUNGRY. VERY Hungry! Where was his mother? What about his bonded? Oh he wanted a strong male to be his bonded... but what would it be beyond his shell? He could feel that they were near, but something about them was just not right.
Picking up his head as much as he could manage, the gray and yellow dragon boy began nudging the sides of his shell. Slowly his nudging became more forceful till he was able to apply enough push to crack himself free. With a series of noisy crackling and crunching, the Dragon made his way out, landing in the soft sands. He was not the smallest dragon in the clutch, no doubt as a Longwing. With large expanding wings tucked into his sides, he was no smaller than a Large dragon. Holding his head up high, he looked straight at a looming female wolf, but for some reason, he kept on looking. "Have you seen my bonded? He's big... and tall.... OH! And strong!"
with a sense of daydream, the hatchling puffed out his chest and let out a loud growl, as though he were trying to call for this "imaginary bonded of his". But there was only the girl... [/blockquote][/blockquote]

ALANA RICHARDS?! tags;--- notes;--- ooc;--- Alana's canine eyes widened as an egg twitched, rocking slightly as though being disturbed from within. Despite herself, she felt her breath catch in her throat as the dragon inside fought for release. The black wolf leaned forward, legs against the edge of the nest. The egg cracked and Alana cursed the heavens for making time drag on so slowly. She knew that inside this hatching egg awaited her Bonded, and somehow that made her happy. Out of the stone-like egg it crawled and the wolf gasped. He was grey and yellow, big and strong. She couldn't contain the smile that fell over her canine lips. He was a Longwing, she could tell by his body structure, and he would likely grow up very large.
Something seemed off though, when he scampered near, looking at her and asking if she had seen his bonded. He seemed to think his bonded was a male. Horrified, Alana shook her head violently. I...I am your bonded. I have to be... She choked out. The gray and yellow dragon tilted his head and looked at her, and she sensed that she had crushed his dreams. She backed away slowly, falling back to lay in the sand, staring dully at the front of the nest. Oh. She heard his say, though it was in her head only. They ow both knew that they had been linked to one another, and even if he or she didn't like it, they were stuck together.
I want to name you Khyber... She muttered lowly, eyes glancing over to the gray and yellow longwing. It was obvious he was already disappointed with her, so she decided to do what she did best and shut him out. She would spare no words with him. She couldn't change the fact that she was a girl, nor was it her fault that they had been bonded. Khyber is fine...Look Alana, I'm sorry, I just had this image of my bonded...I'm sorry. Alana just nodded, standing up abruptly and nudging the hatchling with her nose.
Well, then, Khy, we should head out to find you food. She paused. Oh and by the way...I'm as strong as any guy you could daydream about. I am a Lycan after all. Beside her, Khyber just chuckled.
