She had made the right decision coming here. As soon as she'd hit the land of the tiny island she'd known.
There was something adventurous here. Now she knew what it was. The island had... DRAGONS! She hadn't believed that they were real, but someone had pointed her to the far out desert, they called it the hatching grounds and told her that if she went, maybe, just maybe a dragon would choose her.
Bonding, they called it, and Twila was definitely ready to get a bonded. How awesome would it be to have a real life dragon? Pretty damn awesome. The petite girl trekked through the desert, glad then that she had opted for hiking shoes, shorts, and a t-shirt, because even in the Fall, the desert seemed warm. It must have been that way to keep the babies warm in their eggs, she decided. Nobody had told here where the dragons were, and she decided on her own that they must have been underground, so she picked a spot and plopped down on her hands and knees.
The sand was warm and find, and she began digging at it immediately, hoping that she had chosen an accurate spot, hoping that there were still some dragon eggs left and that one would choose her. How they chose, she didn't know, but the woman had told her that if one chose her, she would know. Bloody...hell. Where are they hiding? She muttered to herself, softly accented voice carrying on the breeze that floated over the sandy dunes. Surely the dragon eggs were somewhere... Twila shrugged, pushed strands of tousled dark hair behind her ears and kept digging in the golden sand.
She would find her dragon. -------------------- for kish Twila fails xDD

He sat, still and mute. But damn... He was bored! Only hours ago had he been granted the thoughts he had. He had awoken. and as every Hatchling knew, that meant his Bonded had arrived to find him and complete the process. He hated the though of being alone for the rest of his natural life... It was saddening
As Twila got closer to the deeply burried eggs, she seemed not to notice the slightly more elevated ground where her lay on wait, and began digging for her own ideals. Between the bond that snapped like a breaking twig, he could feel her determination, and laughed to himself. Finally feeling the strength the bod brought, the Longwing male Dragon pressed his massive body against the sides of the shell. harder... harder... untill.... CRACK! In one loud moment, the egg broke in large, island peices and landed at the lightly colore Air dragon's side. His skin was a clody blend of white and blue hues with pulse-like markings running across them. With a slim build and very long, sturdy wings, the hatchling unfolded them and stretched.
When he finished, he stared back at Twila with concerned eyes that vaguely read 'What the hell is that girl doing?' "...Hey! Don't do that! Something may come out of there and eat you!" Out of defense for his bonded, he pushed her aside and began growling fiercly at the hole. As a large sized dragon, he'd be a defensive adult.

It didn't take long until Twila felt it. It was a pulling sensation, a stirring in her chest that made her sit back for a moment. Did that mean her dragon was calling her? It had to, what else could it mean out here in the hatching grounds? Twila grinned happily and kept digging, deciding that if she felt it now, that she must be doing the right thing, the egg must be close. She didn't even notice the raised nest a few feet behind her. Later on, she would realize her stupidity, but for now, the petite Australian was dead-set on digging a crater in the sand.
Suddenly a male voice rang out and a large and scaly creature jumped in front of her, hissing and growling at the hole she had dug. With a yelp, Twila scrambled back, staring at the dragon before her. He was beautiful, a opalescent blue tinted white witch jagged brown markings all over. He was huge as well, with big elegant wings. She knew he was her Bonded as he was trying to protect her. H..Hello. I'm Twila..but I guess you know that. She smiled meekly at her dragon, reaching out a slender hand t pat his head.
The blue-white dragon nodded, moving closer to her. I did. Twila's blue eyes widened. He could talk to her! the lady had never mentioned that. So...can I call you Anberlin? Do you like that name? The dragon nodded at her, spreading out his huge wings and reaching out to nudge her shoulder. I do. And please, Twila, try to be more careful about the things you do. I can't chase you around all the time.
Twila grinned and nodded at her bonded, standing up and leading the way back to town. Catch me if you can, Anberlin! With a sigh, the pearly dragon shook his head and leaped into a run after his human. -------------------- --- i <3 kish[/blockquote][/blockquote]
