HOW DOES MY CHARACTER GET AN ELEMENT THINGY-MOBOB? AND HOW DO THEY LEARN ABOUT THEM AS CHARACTERS?
When you join your human/lycanthrope character on the "BEGIN" board, the Application will contain a bolded section requesting your desired Element. You are free to choose between Neutral, Water, Fire, Air & Earth. (Nothing more unless another element is added later.) Characters can learn about everything from Phoenixes to elements through the TOWN LIBRARY located on the, you guessed it, “TOWN” board. Sometimes, depending on the history you choose for your character, parents or other adults may have taught them as children of their Island home and the things within it.
WELL WHAT ARE THESE ELEMENTS YOU SPEAK OF, CRAZY LADY?
Elements are considered Alliances on the Island of Inhale. When a human or lycanthrope reaches the age of 18, the legal adult age, their elements awaken much like the awakening of a hatchling within its egg as its bonded nears. When your character reaches the correct age, the element they are given will become as apparent in their minds as the bond of a dragon, because elements are instinct. If you are given, or choose to be Neutral, then you are unbiased to the war. You will either not have an alliance or join the Neutral alliance settled between the other four. Being neutral also gives you a wider range of Dragons. Colors will be more diverse than those of elemental dragons. Breed follows just the same, if in fact neutral is an option for that particular breed. Please seek out the Dragon Information thread for more information. Phoenixes are the same.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF HAVING AN ELEMENT?
For those characters with elements, there are many different advantages. Elements give characters strengths that neutrals lack, such as, perhaps physical strength, mental strength, wisdom, collection of emotions or of mood, and abilities to control the Element you have. By control, we mean as your character and their bonded mature and advance on the island, they will begin to develop special abilities that give them manipulation over whatever element they have. I.E a water element with a young bonded would have minor control over water. As a water element with an older, more mature dragon would have greater control and manipulation over their element. (We will describe the different abilities later below)
HOW ARE ELEMENTS CONNECTED TO THE ISLAND?
They can clearly affect the way your character interacts with other characters. Such as, a water element would probably not be to fawned of a fire element. Probably. Therefore, you are required to respect this. Come on! It adds to your posts! Rivalries are expected to occur regularly. (SUBMARiNE” LOVES CONFLICT >D) Because of this, the Elemental Alliances are Constantly At War.
ABILITIES YOU SAY? TELL ME MORE!
Yes lovelies, abilities. When your character reaches a certain amount of posts(posts, not threads) your character will aquire different Element levels. Each level gets you two more point towards battle scores. With this, are the following;
Water- Beginner
- Requires a proof of ten posts with the character you are advancing in Elemental ability level.
- slight rise of water. Your character may conjure water from streams, rivers, lakes, oceans, and so forth.
- Applies for both your dragon/ phoenix and human.
Water- Intermediate
- Requires a proof of thirty posts with the character you are advancing in Elemental ability level.
- May move larger quantities of water from nearby sources.
- Also will begin to be able to take moisture from the air alone to create water that can be manipulated at will.
- Applies for both your human and Dragon.
- Can heal minor wounds. Not death.
Water- Master
- Requires a proof of fifty posts with the character you are advancing in Elemental ability level.
- Allows your character to conjure large quantities of water from the moisture in the air.
- Can heal major wounds. Not death.
- Can manipulate rain and humid weather.
Moving on to Fire.
Fire- Beginner
- Requires a proof of ten posts with the character you are advancing in Elemental ability level.
- Slight rise in body temperature. Able to heat things at a minor level by making physical contact.
- Applies for both your dragon/ phoenix and human.
Fire- Intermediate
- Requires a proof of thirty posts with the character you are advancing in Elemental ability level.
- Can conjure sparks of flame from one's hands.
- A dragon will begin to "breath" fire. As phoenix will have the ability to turn its feathers to flame. These are usually used as attacks.
Fire- Master
- Requires a proof of Fifty posts with the character you are advancing in Elemental ability level.
- Can conjure large fires in designated areas.
- Mental ability rises. Therefore your character better understands thing. But this does not need to be included in posts. Its more of a side bonus.
- Your dragon/ phoenix, as well as your character will have almost complete control over their element.
- You are able to walk through flame unharmed.
and now we have... Earth
Earth- Beginner
- Requires a proof of ten posts with the character you are advancing in Elemental ability level.
- slight ability to make the earth rise.
- using the mind, can lift small objects. Not just rock or earth material.
- Applies for both human and Dragon/phoenix.
Earth- Intermediate
- Requires a proof of thirty posts with the character you are advancing in Elemental ability level.
- May move larger objects using the mind.
- has the ability to make the earth rise rather noticeably.
- keen hearing and senses to that around them.
- Can feel vibrations in the earth beneath them.
Earth- Master
- Requires a proof of fifty posts with the character you are advancing in Elemental ability level.
- Can dramatically change a landscape. ( but please be reasonable with this)
- Majorly keen senses.
- Improved physical strength for battles.
And last, but certainly NOT least, Air
Air- Beginner
- Requires a proof of ten posts with the character you are advancing in Elemental ability level.
- slight ability to displace air in gusts.
- using hands, can push things away using the air.
- Applies for both human and Dragon/phoenix.
Air- Intermediate
- Requires a proof of thirty posts with the character you are advancing in Elemental ability level.
- More powerful push force.
- Can displace greater forces of air.
- Flight of your character's dragon/ Phoenix is increased in speed They will become very swift fliers. For those with flightless/ unable to be ridden dragons, then ground speed is increased significantly.
Air- Master
- Requires a proof of fifty posts with the character you are advancing in Elemental ability level.
- Can control wind direction.
- very strong push force.
- can displace air at an acurate rate to land softly from blows in battle.
- Very quick and agile on land. Intelligence is a key factor in Air elements.
