Stepps echoed through the dripping rhythm of the moist cave where the female Phoenix sat arrest her nest of eggs. Colors sparkled like vivid gems from beneath her silk soft belly feathers. She'd been resting there for nearly three weeks. waiting... Hoping that just one person would have been adventurous enough to wander into her roosting cave. Her children would become restless soon, and if they did not bond, they would hatch and be feral, just as she was. This was not to say such a thing was particularly tragic, but with the early arrival of the elder dragon's link on the humans and creatures of Inhale, the mother Phoenix wished for her chicks to be a part of that. It had her interest...
At length, the elegant tapping of feet against stone ceased, and a female figure appeared in the dim light. Crystals and gems of real value lay imbedded in the cave walls, giving off a vibrant glow of color to the cave. Here, the Hen's warmth was plentiful. When Willow spoke, the Phoenix picked up her attentive red head, and raised her beautiful crest with curiosity. This woman was kind, and sweet; something the mother had not seen in quite a long while.
Yes… I do grow rather lonely; seldom do humans walk these caves to retrieve their lovely hatchlings. I fear they are ignoring their instincts and… staying away. Some do not take pleasure to the idea of being bonded to a Phoenix chick. Dragons are plentiful to them. I am grateful you have come, therefore, you will be granted the wisest of my children. Take care of her with your life… She is a gift for your kindness towards such a lonely Hen…
her words whispered like a gentle melody through Willows head. But her link would forever be within the soft aqua colored egg the hen maneuvered out from under her warm belly.
Take her to the forest where rains have collected, and soak her for no longer than a minute. Once you remove her, she will hatch.
Then, the Hen nodded her elegant head, and tucked it into her bright red wing feathers where she began to sleep.

S A M H A V O K [atrb=background,http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y26/chimcham/Picture16-4.png]
Jack Downy was by no means trustworthy, but in terms of business he was Sameon's second. He'd keep the company afloat out of spite or some other humane reasoning. And that left Sam free from responsibility for a blissful 24 hours. 24 long, moon howling, tree sniffing, prey hunting hours. It had been too long, a week since he'd shifted, he was on edge, snarlier then usual and all the more dangerous for it. He quickly and efficiently stripped of all his essentials. He could feel his skin crawling, the faux feeling of fur about to burst from every pore on his body. Sam folded away his clothes, shoved them under a few branches of foul smelling pine needles, enough to mask his own scent and keep things like raccoons from taking off with his briefs. Not that he was uncomfortable with being naked, but it just helped to to keep people from making annoying questions and having to moozy up some wild excuse. He just couldn't be shitted, in this mood he'd reasonably bite anyones head off who did see fit to find anything suspicious about his behavior.
Sam stood there in the spotted leafy light, naked but all for a silver necklace around his throat - it wasn't real silver, it was platinum. Silver for some godless reason burnt like napalm so he had to get creative sometimes. Sameon grunted in displeasure, the wolf inside him seemed to settle for the moment, which was unusual for him. This close to the edge he'd usually forcefully take control. His captive sighed and bent over his clothes and shook loose a cigarette and lighter. If the wolf had settled for the moment the only thing he could do was wait until he burst out again. Sam ran a hand through his hair. He stuck the smoke against his wetted lip, the paper made it cling between his lips and he lit it's tip with a flourish of someone who had done the motion a thousand times and tossed it in the general area on top of his clothes. He inhaled deeply, the smoke punctured distastefully by the scent of broken pine needles. He wrinkled his nose but held the breathe, waiting for the nicotine to kick in.

It smelled like egypt this place. Hot, golden, dusky, there was a flavor of magic that she could taste across her tongue. What did magic taste like? Well to Nouveau it tasted like ozone, electric, magnetic like the elements. The sand sparkled when you looked at it up close, winking mysteriously. It knew something that others didn't. It held secrets and precious treasure. The girl laying on top of the giant dune rolled onto her back, laughed aloud and proceeded to make a sand-angel, splaying her limbs out wide and rubbing them along the soft sandy grains. She looked like a lioness, a cat-hunter who had paused to indulge her silly child-like whims. The sand was begging her to roll in it, so she did. She had time. All the time in the world. The hunt was on pause, the game could wait while she rested. Though once the sun hit it's peak the huntress would have to retire to cooler places. Sunstroke wasn't as fun as people thought it was. As if anyone thought sunstroke was fun. The sky was pale blue, cloudless. It looked both beautiful and distasteful at the same time. The shade of blue it was, was beautiful, like wild flowers and periwinkle but at the same time the entire sky looked sun-bleached like a pair of ratty jeans she owned. The had wind picked up while she lay there. It started to howl against her ears and throw handfuls of sand at her. Nouveau rolled lithely, predator-like into a crouching position to survey. A sandstorm was almost deadly from the places in Africa she'd lived in, they came fast and unexpected if you didn't know the signs. This place seemed much too gentle for something so fierce. A crease formed between her eyebrows, it was naive of her to misjudge this place. From the dirty old canvas bag slung across her shoulders the wild girl pulled loose a small slip of leather and quickly tied it around her eyes, small slits in it allowed her to see but lowered the chance of being blinded by sand. Say what you will about dermabrasion but this was a bit too severe. It was time to look for some shelter. Off she was, kicking the dust like a gazelle on the run with only the sun's movement to guide her and then well... BAM! Nouveau was making a personal acquaintance with the sand. Her left foot throbbed horribly where it came into contact with something impossibly hard. She rolled, bounced to her feet on reflex, the leather mask drooping off her face lopsidedly and scanned the ground for whatever had tripped her. She fumed silently at the ungrace of it all. And then she caught it, it's smooth surface glowed like molten amber and mottled with iron and steel gray flecks. No. "Oh no no no no no." She dived for it frantically, nails clawing away at the sand to pry it free, Nouveau was in a frenzy to inspect whether she'd cracked it or not. She cradled the egg, rolling it over gently and not coming across anything. Heres hoping she didn't give the poor baby inside brain damage. "Jesus," She exhaled while holding the egg in one arm she bent forwards to rub her still throbbing big toe. "You'd think you'd be a little more discrete with your tricks little one." Nouveau scolded the unhatched baby. "I know about your kind. Playing games even before birth. Your bonded one would not be happy if my big feet gave you a permanent dent..." The huntress sigh and scrubbed a hand through her messy locks. "So what now? Do I bury you and run? The sandstorm feels like it's getting closer, no thanks to you..."NOUVEAU 631 words. done.

At first it had startled her, because no one stood upon the beach save herself, but then she saw it; the bobbing head of a Lycanthrope as (by the smell) she ran. Ankle deep in the chilled waters, a female of her own species. Sable snarled and tore at the air around her. Maw curled back in a violent scowl as she neared. Her pace became rapid and rushed. Legs clawing quicker to catch ground and pull her closer. She knew that smell… That sweet, wayward ting just off the coast… She knew it too well. But this was not a hostile act, no.
Coming within reach, she let her eyes glaze over the feme wolf, sprinting beside her and matching their pace in harmony. When she’d gathered the needed visual information, she offered a demonic grin that seemed etched into her lips. ”Can’t keep my eyes off. You’re far from home, Evangelina. Please tell me I was missed. Even a little?” she’s buried herself in the forest for quite some time… tired of it all, and needing to get away. Perhaps four weeks back to back? No word of worry from her family. Had they been happy of her escape? Splashes erupted like sinking ships as Sable neared.
