Jack Downy was by no means trustworthy, but in terms of business he was Sameon's second. He'd keep the company afloat out of spite or some other humane reasoning. And that left Sam free from responsibility for a blissful 24 hours. 24 long, moon howling, tree sniffing, prey hunting hours. It had been too long, a week since he'd shifted, he was on edge, snarlier then usual and all the more dangerous for it. He quickly and efficiently stripped of all his essentials. He could feel his skin crawling, the faux feeling of fur about to burst from every pore on his body. Sam folded away his clothes, shoved them under a few branches of foul smelling pine needles, enough to mask his own scent and keep things like raccoons from taking off with his briefs. Not that he was uncomfortable with being naked, but it just helped to to keep people from making annoying questions and having to moozy up some wild excuse. He just couldn't be shitted, in this mood he'd reasonably bite anyones head off who did see fit to find anything suspicious about his behavior.
Sam stood there in the spotted leafy light, naked but all for a silver necklace around his throat - it wasn't real silver, it was platinum. Silver for some godless reason burnt like napalm so he had to get creative sometimes. Sameon grunted in displeasure, the wolf inside him seemed to settle for the moment, which was unusual for him. This close to the edge he'd usually forcefully take control. His captive sighed and bent over his clothes and shook loose a cigarette and lighter. If the wolf had settled for the moment the only thing he could do was wait until he burst out again. Sam ran a hand through his hair. He stuck the smoke against his wetted lip, the paper made it cling between his lips and he lit it's tip with a flourish of someone who had done the motion a thousand times and tossed it in the general area on top of his clothes. He inhaled deeply, the smoke punctured distastefully by the scent of broken pine needles. He wrinkled his nose but held the breathe, waiting for the nicotine to kick in.

MOON’S AWAKE NOW WITH EYES WIDE OPEN MY BODY IS CRAVING SO FEED THE HUNGRY _________________ Ang was wolf, again. She really couldn’t help her impulses. She was a born Lycanthrope; born and raised on Inhale, it was hard to deny her inner wolf when it was so strong. Howling and thrashing to get out, to be rid of such a fragile human exterior. She was more wolf than girl. Being nothing if not brutally honest, she could truthfully say that. It didn’t bring shame with it, or embarrassment. Rather, she was proud of her wolf, of being loup-garou, being able to run on four legs with the wind in her face and the earth in her lungs.
She was running now, tongue tasting the rich scents of forest: pine, conifer, grass, dirt. Her pads touched the ground swiftly before pulling up again, her stride lean and strong. She was eating up dirt, and loving it. She usually ran at night, but it was close enough for her. The sun was barely up, and it was making a fast decent into the horizon, the last rays of sunlight desperate to touch every part of the earth before they were swallowed into darkness. She breathed easily despite her pace, her wolf eyes focused, pupils enlarging as more and more of the shadows expanded, reaching for her with licking fingers: she couldn’t wait.
Tonight was the Harvest Moon, she knew. It was rare, only every four years did the full moon rise into the bed of blackness, bleeding red. The reddish-brown tint the usually pale moon took on excited her, heating the blood of the wolf in her. It made her want to hunt, to howl and join in a mighty hunt to take down a prey worth of a Lycanthrope.
Ang perked her ears curiously, listening to the sounds of the forest. A gray squirrel shot past her front paws, and she swerved, pouncing with strength from her haunches. She landed amid a mess of dead leaves, brown and damp, and shook herself. Standing, she growled her annoyance at being eluded as the squirrel climbed the nearest tree, chattering noisily to it’s companions. She tilted her head back, ears flattening to her head, watching her escaped prey for a moment. Before long, she turned about, ready to start her run again when a curious scent hit the roof of her mouth. She opened her jaws wider, nostrils working to pull the scent to her, and paused after another moment. Another Lycanthrope was here.
She angled herself toward the scent, identifying it as male and shifted into it’s human form. Disgust tore its way up her throat. What was a Lycanthrope doing as a human on this night? It was ridiculous, and she had to know why, she decided. As she loped toward the male, she kept her pace even, relieved at least that it was not Bonded or Impressed. She was born amid dragons and phoenixs, she could identify the scent of the Bonded as easily as she could her own sister. Ang paused in her thoughts long enough to worry over her little sister. There was never enough time in a day, or night, to care for Sable.
The female slowed, her steps becoming measured, until the Lycanthrope-shifted-human was in view. She stared at him with intelligent eyes, and she padded closer, a few feet, and growled a soft greeting. She had never seen this male before. She hardly would have noted his naked state if she hadn’t stopped to admire it. His skin was between pale and a slight tan, and he was muscled the way a Lycanthrope should be. Her eyes lingered, and even though she could have talked the way she was, she opted not to. She rose to her hind legs just as she brought the Change about, timing it so perfectly that she was a girl not a second afterward.
A girl who was a stark naked as the man in front of her. She smiled charming. “It’s a night for wolves,” she said in greeting, eyeing him. “If I told you that you had a hot body would you hold it against me?” she asked, laughter in her voice and body. She leaned back, her wild golden brown hair falling in waves over her shoulders and down her back.
“Evangelina Francest, Ang will do fine,” she introduced herself with a lick of her lips, looking away from him long enough to glance up at the sky, light fading, and grinned in anticipation. _________________

{{ I'M A VICTIM OF MY INSTINCT !She stayed in her wolf form more than seventy-five percent of the time. It was partly because she liked it better that way, and partly because it annoyed Khyber to the very extent. He hated her wolf form, told her he had been bonded to the human part of her, something she had quickly reminded him was not her problem. He should have thought more about his Bonded before he told her she was supposed to be a male. He lapsed into silence every time she reminded him, and she always stalked off, black body moving silently through the brush. Alana had often wondered if she could lose Khyber, leave the dragon so far away that his thoughts would be eliminated from her very mind. Something flared up in the back of her mind, reminding her that this wasn't how Bonded should act toward one another. Then again, Bonded were supposed to accept the other for who they were. Alana couldn't help but think that somehow the world had done that on purpose; set her with a stubborn and uncooperative Bonded who hated what she was.
The onyx wolf growled, snapping her teeth irritably and stomping forward, not waiting on Khyber who had a half-eaten squirrel hanging limply from his mouth. Could you...oh I don't know. Wait until I eat? I haven't eaten in hours! Alana stopped to stare over her hunched shoulder at the gray and yellow reptile. Am I...supposed to care? She replied aloud, blinking lazily at him for a few heartbeats and then continuing on her way, picking up her pace to a lazy trot, bouncing along and deeper into the forest. She knew that no matter how hungry the Bonded was, he would not let her get too far ahead, he would always follow her, a fact that did nothing to make her mood toward him any better.
The girl thought back to the time at the Hatching Grounds. She had been curious, wanted a Bonded. She had read great things about the Bond, and she had been excited to see if she would get paired. Looking back now, Alana realized her ignorance, her stupidity. She was an idiot. She had gone there, and been paired with that vile creature who so trudged along behind her, acting like a lost puppy, though his attitude was anything but that innocent. He had seemingly decided himself that only a strong male bonded would be good enough for him, and when he saw her, she could see his disappointment. She had tried and tried to make things better, and sometimes it seemed that she had succeeded, but Khyber always lapsed back into his state of dream. He always told her things she could do better if she was a boy always criticized her for being a girl, being a lycan, being abused and afraid.
He told her she wasn't strong. It hadn't taken long before the lycan decided that she would just ignore him, she would avoid much conversation with him. She would treat her Bonded as though he had the Plague. It annoyed her to an extent that he could hear her thoughts, and her his, but she had become accustomed to keeping her mind and empty and barren place. Even if he did catch her thoughts, he didn't often offer her a comment on them. It was far different in Khyber's mind. He was young and his mind was an open book. The book, it seemed, was specifically about her and about her faults and flaws and things her dragon saw wrong with her. These were times Alana wished she could opt out of hearing him, but she had read nowhere about options, she was tuck with him until one of them died.
The wolf stopped abruptly, causing Khyber to run into her, something she offered him a growl at. He just sneered at her, plopping down into a sitting position. Could you warn me next time?
[/i] Alana just snorted loudly and shook her head. Could you watch where you're going next time? To that, her fire bonded just huffed. The girl shrugged her canine shoulders and turned back to the cause of her stop. She heard voices up ahead, human voices, one distinctly male and the other the exact opposite and clearly female. The lithe black wolf edged forward, peering with light hazel eyes at the two. Both Lycanthrope, and judging by the choice of words, this was their first meeting. Alana broke into the clearing, pausing for a moment, still in wolf form. The other two had Changed, and she didn't even note their state of undress until Khyber broke into her mind and she raised her lip in a snarl. What are you wolves? A bunch of nudists? Khyber came into view behind her and she swiftly jabbed a hearty kick at him, making him stumble away from her. Leave. Go hunt or something. She told him silently, sitting back and transforming into her human state, still crouched in a sitting position on the ground, head turned over her shoulder to glare at the dragon who returned the cold look. Finally he spun and stalked into the woods and Alana stood, looking at the other two in the group. All three of them were completely nude but by then they should have been used to it. Not being ashamed of your body should have come naturally with lycanthropy, though Alana took the time to notice the other girl looking at the boy, and in turn briefly admired his physique, though turned her hazel eyes up to his, a brow arched in acknowledgment. She dipped her head slightly, soft dark waves falling around her tanned face. She waited patiently for the girl to stop talking, noting quietly that her name was Ang. She took a soft breath and let it out. She let her light eyes wander around, looking at both the girl and the boy for another moment, never once realizing that it was night out. She had only then acknowledged it when the girl spoke of it. Being a wolf helped her sometimes, she forgot when the sun came and left, briefly forgot her fears. They were still there, always. Am I intruding? She asked softly with her head tilted slightly off center and her lips tugged up at one corner in a sort of smile. She didn't honestly care if she was, if it had been anything too private, it wouldn't be taking place in the open outdoors. She wasn't worried. They were like her, lycans, wolves. Somewhere in the back of her mind she could feel Khyber's disgust but she ignored it, he was off hunting, ripping a bird's wings off. It is too beautiful of a night to be wasting. Alana shrugged her bare shoulders lightly. I'm Alana, by the way. Alana Richards.[/blockquote][/blockquote] -------------------- complete alana and khyber ramblefail</3 but it's my longest post in a long while, 1137 words xD

Sam paused, the wolf in him quivering. Crushed pine needles should have meant there was something heavy and moving nearby. He did not relish the thought of being caught unawares. He coiled, muscles bunching up ready for defense, onslaught, the wolf bubbled momentarily back to the surface. He waited like that for a full minute until the softest, thud thud thud, could be deciphered. It was a female and she was being not-so cautious. Breaking cover and staring at him intently like he was a meal. Sam would have sighed and rolled his eyes but he still remain bristled like an angry cat, the human part of his brain kept him leaning against a tree to finish his smoke.
The female then had to do some sort of ballet performance while she shifted. Dominant, his brain noted. She showed off with displays of power and showed excellent control of her shifting. Sameon lifted his chin and pinned her with wolfish yellow eyes, the most basic wolf game there was. He was alpha and you weren't allowed to meet his eyes, it was seen as a challenge. Even as he tilted his head to exhale his lungful of smoke he never broke the gaze. Ang's cheeky comments fell on deaf ears. "Sam Havok." He replied, "You can call me Havok." he allowed before continuing "What brings you here and who claims these lands?"
Ah Sam you giant asshole. He was too busy asserting his dominance and metaphorically peeing on trees to show the lady who was boss. And there were soon to be two naked girls in front of him! But really the spartan was just doing what the wolf told him. Besides with the lycans he came from the sequence of acquaintances went dominance, fight, ally/kill and then you check out the potential digs. Where this girl learnt to be so bold was beyond his imaginings. She'd be dead back in North America.
and then the other one came into the scene, trumping through the trees like an absolute train wreck. Sam actually snarled at her when she came into sight. Though he was still staring down Ang, he'd go through the same routine with this Alana in a moments time. Women... Did they really think mentioning the pretty moon would make the wolf forget protocol?
(Did I mention Sam was super srs? I mean serious. I've read all sorts of werewolf books so I have very specific views on their behavior so until Same is pretty darn sure he's in control there won't be much flirting I'm afraid)

" Hurry up, Six. You're so slow! "
Angelica "Bones" Hayden barked, standing still as she waited for her twin brother, Michael, to catch up. She rolled her blue eyes as he came trotting up to her. He shook his shaggy black fur and looked at her, a good foot higher than her.
" You're so annoying, Bones, "
Six replied softly, earning a growl from his sister. He smirked in satisfaction and started to run again. Bones sighed and took off after him. They ran for a while, wild and free like they should be. All she could look at was the scenery around them. The grass was a beautiful light green and the trees were everywhere! A light fog was blanketing the ground as they ran, advancing deeper and deeper into the forest until they tired out, stopping so they could turn back into humans and walk around the forest naked like they always did to cool themselves off. Having fur wasn't always a pleasure, especially when you're half human.
Six scratched at the back of his head as he stood before Bones, still taller than his twin sister and trying to fight the longing feeling to have a smoke. She smirked at him and tilted her head, showing off her super sharp canine teeth.
" I thought you were bigger than that, Sixxy. You sure do disappoint the ladies then, huh? "
She snickered as he looked down and looked back at her, pouting and growling.
" Bones! Stop staring at me will you? It's creepy! "
Six snapped, covering himself with his hands as his sister turned away. She laughed and folded her hands behind her head as heard Six laughing. She turned around and crossed her arms over her chest, scowling at him.
" What the hell are you laughing at, asshole? "
She growled, earning another chuckle from him. He pointed to her chest and slapped his knees, doubling over with hysterics. Her blue eyes widened and she snarled, canine teeth showing as she rushed to tackle him. He gasped and turned to run away, but Bones caught up to him. The twins tumbled to the ground Bones on top and she growled again, scratching at her brother with her neon green nails. He had scratch marks on his face, arms, chest, and neck, but he shrugged it off and fought back against his sister. She smirked as he went to punch her when she blocked his fist. He growled and she got off of him, stepping back and offering her manicured hand to him. He took it and wasn't ready for when she kicked him in his male part. Bones laughed and skipped away, looking back over her shoulder to see Six lying face down on the ground.
" I didn't kick you that hard so get up. Don't be a sissy, unless you want me to call you sis? "
Bones replied, turning around to see him get up and struggle over to her. She smirked at him and kept walking, hearing him groan from even moving the slightest bit. Her kicking must be getting better if her brother could take the pain of cutting himself on the wrist and yet he couldn't take being kicked down there.
Bones kept walking until she stopped short, eying down a naked man, probably another Lycan like her and her brother. He was standing in a clearing with two females, also naked. Six stumbled into her and she fell, a loud growl erupting from her as she went down. Her face hit the ground and she shrieked a little out of pain. He cursed and bent over to help her up, but she refused it.
Crawling on her hands and knees to get up, Bones growled at her brother before standing at her full height. She blushed slightly when she realized she was in the company of another male besides her twin brother while she had no clothes on. Oh well, gotta work it like you own it. She strutted up to the group, being careful to not step on anything or trip. She turned around to wave Six over and before she knew it, he was trotting after her. She groaned and turned around to face the others, who she assumed were Lycans. Facing the male, who was staring down both of the females that had approached him, she waved and pushed her brother. He stumbled again and scowled at her before looking at the others with piercing blue eyes. She followed his eyes and took everyone in, trying to measure everyone up for size. The male looked serious, determined, and careful, while both females looked bitchy, flirty, and annoying. She rolled her blue eyes and leaned on her brother, yawning and trying to look bored. Six looked at her, rolled his eyes, and spoke for the first time to others since, well, Scout.
" Sorry for intruding. We can leave if you want us to, "
Six replied, looking down at his feet. Bones smacked his shoulder and growled, taking the lead since he was obviously unfit to be a leader. She smiled slightly at him before putting on her poker face and walking forward. She looked the guy up and down before smiling and looking him in the eyes.
" Better cover your friend up. He's distracting, "
She snickered and grinned like a wildcat, showing off perfect canine teeth. She pouted at him and laughed, flicking the tip of her nose with her thumb as she gave him a thumbs up. She looked over her shoulder at the others and then her brother before looking back at the "alpha". She stopped grinning and stared into his eyes, giving him her best serious look.
" Where's the rest of the pack? Surely it's not only you and these two lovely ladies. Although, I wouldn't consider him to be a man. He's a buzz-kill anyway. I'm Angelica Hayden, but Bones will do just nicely. That sissy over there is Michael, my twin brother. Call him Six, unless you want your head taken off and eaten. Let's cut to the chase here. You're obviously a Lycan, alpha, no? You must be needing friends, unless you actually like full blooded humans. Consider me a friend and I'll leave. Got it? "
She growled, crossing her arms across her chest before turning around and strutting back over to her brother's side. She whispered something in his ear, about how if the alpha doesn't like how she acts then they're leaving, and he just shrugged and smiled at her, revealing his canine teeth since the first time he came to Inhale. She smiled, flicked the tip of his nose, and looked over her shoulder at the alpha. He seemed joyless and serious, but there was something wild about him that she liked. She yawned again and leaned against her brother, closing her blue eyes to try to get some sleep while Six talked to the others. Socializing made her tired. Besides, she didn't feel like dealing with two bitches and a serious guy. Boooring! She heard another female approached and opened her eyes to see her stand up to the male that was probably the only one with enough balls to just stare at the girls. Bones couldn't help herself and she clapped for the newcomer before closing her eyes and going back to trying to sleep. Not like she would though, with everyone talking.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,525,true] | [atrb=background,http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd495/mightykish/sablemiddle.png] Caution coiled within her agile bones as Sable Claire Francest made steady progress through the thick sea of trees. Much lay masked in the inky darkness of the sun virgin forest. Light only dappled the forest floor in starry patters with the sections where trees became thinner. But Sable avoided them as much as she could manage. Soften darting through the light just to make it to the other side without becoming known to the world around her. She only fell a few times when the snap and pop of tree limbs caused her to almost jump from her skin. She’d been running from Dragons since she’d made it to the island, but four weeks under the radar was something she’d not been use to. Not to say she hadn’t been successful, though. Primarily, she had been a strict night hunter; but as the day shone its early face, she began to feel the pains of hunger gnawing at her stomach. But Sable would not stop to hunt now. There was something else on her mind at this particular time…
Scents of the forest drifted and passed through her keen senses just as they always did, day in and day out. But this one was new… it did not move or drift. It stayed perfectly still… Sable lifted her nose to the air as she slowed near the source of the musky fragrance and inhaled strong and deep. Her golden body stiffened and held strong against her rising hackles. The fur on her neck began to rise up in prickled clumps of tension. Other crashing noised erupted from various places within the forest, as though it were alive and angry with her... But when a familiar voice echoed through the foliage, Sable grimaced.
She sat lurking in the daunting shadows, watching and waiting for the time when she would leave with the information she had gathered from this meeting. Curiosity gnawed at her like teeth against flesh, leaving her itching for more and more… but they seemed to hold their tongues from anything important. The woman only flirting and dancing around in ridiculous manners around the stoic male within its center. Sable scowled in disagreement with the group. How drab… She’d always viewed her kind of intelligent bloodlusts. Not one track sods… She rolled her eyes, but her twin receptors flickered once again over the group when the male began to speak again.
Brilliant.
Stepping into the light of their thin forest gather place, Sable approached with stiff steps, her head leaning passed her shoulders in a demonic manner. She made no move as to indicate that she planned on changing within their time, and simply pressed herself through them. Her golden pelt shone like a star within the night, though it made a significant cloak within the inky darkness when she wished it.
No emotion but that of perhaps a dark scowl laced her face. Her gold eyes bore into the male like daggers. ”-Me. Now get out.” narrowing upon contact of the male, she was fully aware of dominant protocols, and made sure her gaze lay within his own direct one. Like the snap of a finger, her head twisted in the opposite direction, straight at Evangelina. She kept her monotone state and rose her head up tall. ”Don’t be a whore, Ang. It looks ridiculous on you; you’re far too pretty for that nonsense,” She did not move her head, but her glowing seekers shifted to look indifferently at the other Lycan. ”…but you wear it just fine.” having lived with these forest for months, Sable had laid her claim, at least to herself she had. But she had not problem with fighting out the proof. Though she sat at an average female Lycan height, Sable was an agile fighter.
Just as two noisy teenagers bounced and fell into the clearing with the rest of them, Sable snarled and pulled her lips back in a sneer that ripped through the air in annoyance. Did No One know how to be quiet these days?! Christ! snapping her head at them, Sable's voice cut through their laughter with a daunting tone "Yes. You are interrupting! He is hardly an alpha here. and Quite the same, I'd be willing to make a point of it." pure hate and cold drifted off of her like the scent of a human. Strong and impossible to escape.
729 Nikkii, you GOOBER! XD I had my reserve there for a reason... you didn't add Sable in there, so this is me doing it FOR YOU. LOL

S A M H A V O K [atrb=background,http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y26/chimcham/Picture16-4.png][Disregard this post Candi! Go ahead and post what you want I'll edit this later. I just had some bottled up muse. I'm going to go on a limb he and say to hell with posting order, post when you can to whats relevant, just keep everything smooth though so people can catch up, we don't need to write novels here kids. 300 words will do :'D otherwise we'll be here forever trying to figure out wtf is happening.]
It had gotten WAY too crowded in here way too fast. Four females and a male. His wolf surged to the surface ready to boil over in fur and fangs. The only thing that kept the transformation down was the iron will of the alpha. His eyes positively glowed gold and cords of muscle stuck out along his neck. "ENOUGH!" Sam half roared. And to think it was instinct to some how sort out this godforsaken mess of dogs. He disregarded the two pups, one of whom seemed to be making a blathering speech, for now they were the least troublesome though the girl was trying vainly to project a sense of bad ass. All the keyed up emotions of the wolves became intoxicating in this small area. Fury, the blood moon, forcing themselves to be human when right now they should be hunting and reveling in bloodlust, it was amazing that any of them were still on two feet. It was all downright unnatural. There was something about this island that was turning the lycans feral. Though there was little time to ponder that yet. The real threat here was probably Sam's favorite of the lot, at least she got to the point. "A female? A loner female claims these parts?" Sam replied, mildly astonished but continued with a taunting sneer on his cool, arrogant face "Or do you think you speak as their leader?" He torn his gaze from Ang with a vicious snarl, it galled him to look away but the real threat was her. She had slunk in, lithe and deadly, the huntress had been disturbed. She was the only one who's behavior Sam could understand. It was like the rest had been raised without their instincts in tune. In a matter of seconds Havok had closed the distance between him and the golden female, he melted from man to wolf in a matter of seconds. With the wolf that much in control the Change was flawless. Sam's wolf was burly with ropey muscle, his fur was a quivering mass of silver and white. The lycanthropes weren't built like ordinary wolves. They tended to grow bigger with more dexterous front legs like you'd see in a grizzly bear or big cat. Normal dogs couldn't side swipe and take out part of a rib cage. No, lycans were a breed of their own. Sam's hackles raised under the bottled up tension, (and admittedly a whole lot of testosterone) his snarling maw inches away from her (Sable's) own. Everything about his posturing, from the hunter's stance to the ears pinned back along his skull screamed, fight me.
