Gabriel had a dragon.
She hated that he'd gotten one first. He may have been older, but she'd done everything else sooner than he had. She'd learned to talk at a younger age than he, learned to walk a full year younger than he had. She was the smarter of the two, so how had some dragon been attracted to him before her? It just wasn't fair.
It would all be fixed now though. She could feel the tug, and didn't resist against it. It was her turn now, her turn to break the tradition of failure that was her bloodline. Her parents had screwed up their lives, as well as her's and Gabriel's but she was going to make something from her life. She was sure of this.
She ground her teeth together as she wandered among the eggs, searching for hers. Would it be a huge Widowmaker? A wingless Scarlet Flower? She knew about all the breeds, getting a Dragon was all she'd dreamed about since she'd understood she could potentially get one.
Blue eggs, green eggs, black eggs, all scattered about in the sand like pebbles dropped from the hand of a child. No real pattern but obviously meant to be there. Just like she was meant to be there. She wished she'd had time to clean up before coming, but the pull had been stronger than she'd thought so she was stuck wearing the dirty, ripped jeans and white-a-few-years-ago-but-no-longer t-shirt. Her hair was unkempt, and her face smudged. What would her new dragon think of her?

Clicky Nestled deep within her egg, the darkly colored Dragon female rested. She'd awoken long ago, but felt no desire to rush into things, maybe her Bonded was to come and get her... She wasn't motivated enough.
Sitting alone within the vast desert winds, the Longwing girl was perfectly content. All had been taken from her clutch, save four others scattered along the way. But none near her own. but... like there had never been before... a voice called from within. Was she here? Her bonded? Of course you twit! she scolded herself for such stupidity. She wouldn't be here if she wasn't near!
Forcing her tired pupiless eyes open, the Medium sized dragon began pressing herself against the shell till it broke in clean pieces where she could escape into freedom. FREEDOM! But... oh she was still so tired....

The cracking sound split the silence, and Nikita whirled around and searched for the source. The dark egg that had split revealed a black and mauve hatchling, who unfurled her wings and straightened herself. The solid white eyes seemed to catch on her, though Nikita couldn't be sure.
She smiled. Her own eyes caressing the large fangs sticking out of the hatchling's mouth. She was willing to bet Gabriel's dragon didn't have those.
"Hello Yannica."
Said Nikita, her voice cutting through the otherwise silence. The dragon perked, and turned her head in the direction of Nikita. Yes, this was her bonded. Young, but she had promise. She yawned, and trudged over to Nikita.
Does the name have a meaning Bonded?
She thought boredly. Not really caring yet still wanting to know. Nikita shook her head.
"Not unless you wish it to."
The dragon reached Nikita, and looked up at her with pupil-less eyes. Nikita regarded her curiously, she seemed healthy otherwise and strong. Though perhaps not as large as she might have liked she would do well.
