Dark locks were tossed around on his head by the playful wind, the high pitch slightly annoying his ears. Loose shirt rippled around his muscled frame, dark green eyes scanning the terrain with a practiced eye. Any tracks from newly bonded hatchlings and their partners would immediately be erased by the ever-shifting sand in this place. He rubbed his arms slightly as they itched and crawled, it was way too hot here for him. Straightening up slowly, he turned to face the way he had come into the place before sighing and marching toward the pull. It was a curious thing, always giving him a slight tug here and there to remind him which way he should go. He had never seen a dragon very close before since the war ruined the ability to befriend them when he was younger. He couldn't remember too much about it besides the fact that he had practically abandoned his family.
Bare feet sunk into the hot sand as he marched, shoulders squared and jaw set, toward a smaller sand dune. All of a sudden the pull on his soul gave a tremendous lurch and he stumbled to a stop, one knee giving out. Throwing his hands out, he braced himself in the hot sand and took a few deep breaths to contain himself. The eggs had to be close. They just had to be! With a new surge of adrenaline he jumped ot his feet before scrambling over the sand dune only to lose his balance again. Instead of making a kingly appearence for his hatchling he was now rolling down the dune. The bottom seemed like it took forever to reach but he ended up landing sitting criss-crossed. Coughing loudly, he covered his mouth before shaking his head fiercely before opening his eyes to peer at the nest of eggs. Tilting his head at the slightly shivering appearence of them, his voice was as if he was speaking to a spooky equine. "Come on then, I know you're here somewhere..."

It was as if the world stopped spinning and time froze. It was a crazy, dizzying sensation that made the small Jade dragon stop and widen her ice blue eyes. She knew what it meant. Her bond had awoken, her bonded arrived. She instantly got to work, cracking away diligently at the brightly colored aqua shell. She was a medium sized Lung Yu dragon, born to the water element. She had a beautiful aquamarine body with iridescent and luminescent spotting and dark striping. She knew her bonded would love her. Who wouldn't? Crawling from the darkness of the egg, the dragonette yawned, swishing her tail about.
My bonded.
[/i][/color] She purred confidently, sauntering up to a male who was near the nest, speaking to the eggs as though they could hear him. She rubbed against his leg like a cat, making sure he and everyone knew that they were Bonded, he was hers. He was worthy. Grinning up at the boy, the Jade dragon made a purring noise in her throat, expanding her wings in a show. He had to like her. She was a Lung Yu, a medium-sized, fast and capable dragon. The boy would quite sadly insane if he did not appreciate the gift of being linked to her. Ready to conquer the world, my bonded?-------------- female. medium. Lung Yu. click. He had been staring at the nest for what seemed like ages. Dark green eyes flickered to the few pieces of broken shell that littered the area that even the sand couldn't get to. Everything from neon colors to dark, mottled neutral pieces were scattered everywhere around him. Lifting a hand up to push his dark hair back a small sound made him instantly jerk in surprise. A cool feeling spread through his chest and made him sigh slowly, eyes closing as he relished the feeling of Bonding with his hatchling. Opening his eyes slowly, he watched with an unwavering gaze as the little female slid elegantly from her egg.
He shivered slightly when her sly voice entered his mind and he nodded confidently at her question. A stray word slipped into his mind as he stared at her rubbing against him.
"Deino. Lets go home."
"I thought you'd never say it."
Holding out his arms in a cradle, he let the dragonette curl into his embrace. Straightening himself awkwardly, he slowly stood before staring back down at the small nest of eggs. He knew that in a matter of days, maybe even hours, the rest of the eggs would be hatched. Looking down at his partner, he clucked at her once before turning and beginning his march out of the hellishly hot place.
