He squeaked in pleasure as it swallowed him whole, tumbling him up the sand beach towards Gabriel's feet. Gabe stood barefoot, toes barely touching the water as he watched the Hatchling play. They'd only just left the hatching grounds, and as the sun rose the horizon lightened and Nyxx's obvious glow began to become a little less obvious to his intense pleasure. The glow made him nervous, he wasn't the type of person who liked to stand out. Hell, if he stood out he was in trouble considering he wasn't really wanted around by many people. Gabriel will come in now yes? The voice didn't make him jump this time, but it still felt like an invasion of his privacy. "Naw." He said, shrugging slightly. He liked water, but he had things to think about. Like how he was going to hide Nyxx's glow when he made runs to steal things. The hatchling didn't seem bothered in the slightest by his disinterest, and continued to jump over waves, swim under them, and attack pieces of seaweed that floated fast. Gabe had worried at first that the tide would take him away, but his worries had quickly been dispatched. The dragon took as naturally to the water as he did anywhere else, and the glow of his markings looked eerie under the water. ooc: for nikki <3

Blue waves crashed against the beach in a soft rhythmic pattern as the sapphire and black Dragon hatchling stuck her leg out to touch the water slightly and then darting away so she wouldn't get wet. Her Bonded was lying on a small beach blanket she had brought with her when she left her house in town. The blonde looked like a sea goddess, the wind whipping her golden hair around her face as the sun beat down on her tan body. While she wasn't totally exposed, she felt like it. Her outfit was slightly revealing, what with the white string bikini she was wearing, but the watermelon pink skirt she was wearing made her feel a little better about wearing her bikini while she was at the beach. Besides, she didn't need a tan so why show most of her skin to the sun's harmful rays?

"Are you coming in, Cayenne?"

Araxie managed to startle her, as always. Even though she was used to having Araxie around, she still wasn't used to the way Araxie communicated with her telepathically. Personally,she liked to speak out loud to her little hatchling whenever she could so she wouldn't be shaken up every time they communicated. Ignoring her frazzled nerves for a bit, Cayenne nodded her head and got to her feet, slipping off her pink cover-up skirt so she could join Araxie in the water.

Slipping off her sandals, she made her way to the water. Once or twice she stopped to wiggle her toes in the sand or pick up a shell. But now, she was at the point where the water met the beach and she wadded into the clear water. The waves lapped at her legs as she turned and looked at Araxie. The sapphire Dragon was too busy running away from the water and then running back, which made the blonde giggle.

"Araxie, let's go take a walk down the beach," Cayenne called to the hatchling, making her way out of the water to Araxie. She nodded and the two girls began walking down the beach, chatting about the water, the sand, and anything they found along their way. It wasn't until halfway down the beach that Cayenne noticed a human, a male to be exact. He seemed lost in his thoughts, but she didn't want to bother him. She looked down at her side to tell Araxie that they had to turn back, but the small Dragon was gone. She looked up and noticed her Dragon racing toward the water, interested in what was glowing beneath the surface.

"It's a Dragon! I can smell him!"

Cayenne frowned and got a little closer to where Araxie was before sighing and sitting down on the sand. The water touched her toes and she giggled, taking her blue eyes off Araxie to watch the water. She sighed and played with the sand in her delicate hands to take her mind off her constant worry for Araxie for even a bit while Araxie played in the water.

[atrb=background,http://i51.tinypic.com/2a68h3a.png] At first the appearance of the female didn't register, Gabriel's light blue eyes remained slightly glazed over as he stared out blindly at the ocean. The sun had risen over the horizon, and the ocean was now turning a green color with the blue sky beginning to appear. It was Nyxx who alerted him to the newcomers, he shot out of the water and landed with a tumble at Gabriel's feet, and righted himself quickly as he shook the sand from his dark scales. He stared at the approaching female hatchling, and cocked his head in curiosity. However he knew his bonded's status in the community, and chirruped a warning. Gabriel's eyes focused, and he turned quickly to face the new-comer with cold, wary eyes. He relaxed almost instantly, so smoothly that his wary-ness would probably not even be noticed. She wasn't police, and wasn't a royal. He could take her if she was there to try and take him in. Nyxx looked up at Gabriel, waiting to see what the correct attitude to the newcomers was. Gabriel felt his eyes on him, and looked down. Shrugging, her turned back to the ocean but kept a close watch out of the corner of his eye on Nyxx and the other bonded pair. Nyxx sniffed the air, and warily approached the female hatchling. He was a good deal larger and bulkier, but he could sense they were of the same Element so his approach was non-threatening. "You are recently hatched too yes?" He said hesitantly to the female. Gabriel turned his head slightly, keeping his gaze down at the sound of Nyxx's voice. ooc: for nikki <3

Cayenne wasn't sure what to do. She wanted to play in the water with Araxie, but she was worried about how she looked in front of the male human sitting a while away from her on the other side of where Araxie and his Dragon were playing. Maybe she should just dive into the next wave and not care what he thought? Besides, when did she ever care about another's opinion of her? Never! Time to have some fun, she thought as she got to her feet and began wadding into the blue water.

"Yup, just left the hatching grounds actually. I take it you're also a new hatchling?"

Araxie replied softly, looking at the other hatchling with curious eyes. She smiled at him and had begun to entertain herself with the waves again, fascinated by how they tickled her body as they lapped against her scaly silhouette.

Cayenne sighed softly as she got deep enough to the point where she could actually dive under water. She dove down, floating there for a minute to take the opportunity to open her eyes and check out her surroundings.

Beneath the water, small fish of all the different colors of the rainbow swam by, weaving in and out of the seaweed plants that grew at the bottom of the ocean. She gasped at the beautiful scene and swam up for air, choking on the salt water that began to fill her lungs. She broke the surface and gasped for air, coughing and wheezing from the water she had swallowed. Araxie looked over at her Bonded for a brief minute, her brow creasing with worry. After seeing Cayenne wave at her, she went back to playing with the water as Cayenne made her way out of the blue ocean. The blonde bombshell's lively blue eyes settled on the Bonded of the male hatchling. She frowned at his lack of interest in her and the Dragons, so her slightly witty mind came up with a plan. Why not force him into the water? She snickered and skipped the rest of the to him, sliding to a stop in front of her. She bent over and placed her hands on her hips, getting all up in his face. She felt the nagging worry that he would probably yell at her or be freaked out by her being so forward about it, but you had to make friends, right?

"Don't be such a party pooper! Come join us in the water, Mr..." She cried passionately before blushing out of embarrassment when she realized she didn't know him or his name! Oh, how embarrassing. She backed up a bit and looked down at her feet, rocking back and forth awkwardly. She felt bad for not asking for his name or even introducing herself, so she bit her glossy bottom lip and looked up at him with a pout. Maybe her cuteness would win him over? Ha, she doubted it, but it was worth a try! What's the worst that could happen anyway? On second thought, don't answer that.

"Yeah! My rock... I mean Bonded, over there..." He jerked his head towards Gabriel, who frowned and shot him a glare. "We just came from the hatching grounds too, this morning I think." He shook his wings, a few droplets of water scattering to the already damp sand. He grinned at the female before continuing. "I'm Nyxx. You like the water too? A Water dragon yes?" He said happily, knowing he was right. What other dragon was crazy enough to want to play in water? He was quite pleased that the first dragon he would meet was another of his own kind. He turned his head to stare at the female's bonded when Araxie did, cocking his head curiously before shooting a glance at Gabe. See, she plays in the water. You're a Water boy aren't you? Go play with Water girl. He said simply. Gabe sighed. His bonded was giving him a headache with the non-stop chatter. The blasted thing better get quiet and more calm as it aged or he was going to have to tie it to a tree somewhere and never come back. His mind wandered into the endless possibilities of ways to dispose of Nyxx, and he didn't even notice that the girl had approached until she was suddenly speaking in his face. Several things happened in a moment, many of which he strongly regretted. She'd startled him, and he didn't like to be startled what so ever. His instincts and training too over, and in one fluid motion he ducked down as if expecting a punch, put his hands on the ground and gave a swift kick toward her knees to try and knock her over. Nyxx froze, sensing his bonded's alarm and wailed when he saw what Gabe was doing. No Gabe! No harm! He wailed into Gabe's brain, and Gabe paused before realizing that it was just the girl. He stumbled back a few steps, his face a mask of anger, confusion, and worry. "Jesus lady, don't startle someone like that." He hissed through clenched teeth. Trying to control his racing heart, he took a few deep breaths and realized just how rude he was being. He'd tried to knock the girl down, then practically insulted her? "I... I'm sorry, I'm not particularly social..." He said lamely. ooc: for nikki <3

Araxie smiled at Nyxx and laughed when he called his Bonded a rock. She glanced over at Cayenne. What was Cayenne like, personality wise? Well, the girl was exciting, bold, lively, and daring. She always acted on impulse, however, so when Nyxx's bonded kicked at her knees, she wasn't the least bit worried when Cayenne toppled over with a shriek. Araxie looked back at Nyxx and smiled.

"I'm Araxie, and the girl who just got a mouthful of sand is Cayenne. Don't worry about her, she deserved it,"

Araxie replied softly, chuckling as Cayenne scrambled to her feet and made a soft growling sound before softening and sitting down beside him. She smiled at him and turned her head to look out at the ocean.

"It's fine. It's not your fault. I shouldn't have startled you like that, but I tend to not think. I'm Cayenne," She sighed softly before turning to him and offering a delicate hand as a gretting. She blushed a little at admitting her mistake for startling him. After all, she didn't know what he had been through. For all she knew, he was abused as a kid and was now very anti-social and here she was, forcing herself onto him to get him to talk and not look so moody. She looked back at the ocean and watched as Araxie and Nyxx played in the water together. Maybe that will be her someday, playing with a friend carefree and wild. She could only hope, as sad as it is.
